AHS Winner First Prize!
Just returned from the ISA London West Heads meeting and area Art Competition hosted brilliantly by Hurst Lodge School. I was accompanied by Miss Crane whose class had entered a beautiful textile in the under 11's category. I am delighted to inform you that we won a regional certificate for FIRST PRIZE! The entry will now go forward to the national competition later in the year.

Harvest Festival
Last Thursday saw the first school event of the term! Excited pupils entered the church clutching a tin of soup or packet of pasta to hand over to the representative from The Passage, a charity that works for homeless people in London. The children sang their hearts out and enacted 'A Piece of Toast' a play written by Mr G our new music and drama teacher. Apart from one of our new very young pupils bursting into tears and stating that he wanted to go home and NOW the festival was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Welcome to the Abingdon House School Blog
Thanks for visiting this blog.
This is an area for me, Nick Rees, Head of Abingdon House to talk about what's going on in the school from my personal angle, and about wider issues affecting children in the special needs area.
I'm aiming to update this once a week, so if I slip behind, let me know. Any encouragement from parents of children at the school, or just people with an interest in special needs education, would be much appreciated.
To receive automatic notifications of new blog posts, get yourself a blog reader. They're free, easy to use and great time savers.
Finally, congratulations for getting to the end of my first blog post.
Nick.
